Welcome. It is our goal to provide you, the citizens of Bridgeville, with the information you need to make you more familiar with your city and the services provided by us. The Town is located in Sussex County in the southwestern part of Delaware. Bridgeville is located on U.S. 13, approximately 30 miles south of Dover, the capital of Delaware. Bridgeville is also 26 miles north of Salisbury, Maryland, the biggest shopping area south of Dover on the Delmarva Peninsula. The population of Bridgeville is approximately 2,568. The Town logo, posted at all entrances, is “If you lived here, you would be home now.” Bridgeville is one of the oldest surviving communities in western Sussex County. Long before Sussex County was subdivided into hundreds, a community in the 1680′s began to develop along the small waterway known as Bridge Branch. WINTER STORM UPDATES   We are now looking at precipitation starting around midnight on Saturday, and continuing through to Monday. What is uncertain is the timing of the shift from snow to ice, then back to snow – including when that lovely precipitation sandwich will occur and what the impacts will be.   Either way, we are expecting significant snowfall in the hours leading up to any changes in whatever form the water chooses to take, and that is how we are preparing. Now for some friendly reminders and tips –   In the event that the state declares a level 2 state of emergency and implements driving restrictions – PLEASE HONOR THIS – emergency services need to prioritize clearing roads, not pulling vehicles out of ditches and snow drifts. Bridgeville Branch Tax Ditch Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Bridgeville Branch Tax Ditch Program on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Bridgeville Public Library. The Bridgeville Branch Tax Ditch also has a vacancy and is seeking interested persons to serve on the board. Officers must be a landowner on the Bridgeville Branch Tax Ditch. Construction and Limited Access to Town Hall – 10/20/25-11/3/25

**THE PARKING LOT IS NOW OPEN!**     Starting Monday, October 20, 2025, and lasting until the first week of November, there will be no parking lot or sidewalk access to Town Hall. The next part of the park phase requires the redevelopment of the entrances from S. Main Street and the resurfacing of the parking lot.   Town Hall will still be open and operating, but in-person access can only be achieved from the North Side of the building. Please be safe while using crosswalks in this area. A temporary drop box for payments, applications, etc. has been installed to the left of the entrance of the Police Station at 105 S. Main Street (Yellow Star). This drop box is secured and monitored by a security camera, with checks performed multiple times per day. Mobile Food Pantry with the Food Bank of Delaware

We are partnering with the Food Bank of Delaware to host a Mobile Pantry event for those who may be in need. Items provided may include nonperishables, fresh produce, dairy, beverages and other refrigerated and frozen items, as well as personal products when available. Simply bring proof of Delaware residency, register on-site, and we will fill your car! Event begins at 1:00 and ends once food is distributed. The line will begin at the entrance to Ball Park Lane – to the right of the Bridgeville Public Library.

Property Taxes Due – September 30, 2025

Reminder: Property Taxes are due today, September 30, 2025. Your property tax account can be viewed online any time at https://bridgevillede.taxandrevenue.opengov.com/ You can either create an account or simply use the search feature at the top to look up your property and/or double-check if payment has been received from your mortgage company. Payments can be made online, in person at Town Hall, or left in the drop box. Please contact Town Hall for any questions or concerns.

Our New Utility Billing Software is FINALLY here!

After several months of hard work and three years of water meter upgrades, our new software is FINALLY here!   With this upgrade, you will see a new look to your bills and have access to a customer portal that will enable you to view, print, and pay your bills online. Through the customer portal, you can sign up for E-billing and autopay, view your bills, and view your usage history. Once you have received your first new bill, you will be able to register your account or use the quick pay feature by visiting https://bridgeville.authoritypay.com. Your new bill will provide you with the necessary information to register, such as your new account number and CID number on the top right corner.
