Public Works – Water & Street Departments

The Town of Bridgeville Water Department supplies the citizens of Bridgeville with drinking water that meets all standards set by the Delaware Office of Drinkingeagle on water tower Water and the Environmental Protection Agency. Public Works Director Brandon Slater and his team achieve these qualities through constant monitoring and testing for contaminants in our potable water supply, which is delivered from six groundwater wells.

Routine maintenance of our well sites and distribution system helps deliver quality water to our community.

Cross Connection Control Program

Your local water provider is making improvements to protect the safety of drinking water. Here’s why.

A cross-connection is an actual or potential connection between the safe drinking water (potable) supply and a source of contamination or pollution. Cross-connections can result in a hazardous event known as backflow, which can draw those contaminants into your drinking water supply.

Delaware’s Department of Health Code 4462 prohibits hazardous interconnections to public water systems and requires all public water systems development a comprehensive Cross-Connection Control Program.

For more information – we have set up a dedication informational/educational page on the Cross Connection Control Program – https://watercustomer.com/bridgeville

In 2011 & 2013, the Town of Bridgeville received a Water Fluoridation Quality Award from the US Department of Health & Human Services. The award is given in recognition of the “consistent and professional adjustment of the water fluoride content to the optimum level for oral health for 12 consistent months”.
