Bridgeville Town Hall – Town Park Project
Where: 103 S Main Street – Between Town Hall and the Police Station
What: Parking Lot Improvements Project and Town Park
Update: As of Late Summer 2026, we are underway with Phase II of the park project! The Town has been working with playground design companies, using our remaining funding, to create a suitable playground and equipment design for this space. The goal is to have the site designed by winter, with installation in Spring 2027.
We are happily underway with the first phase of our park project! This work is made possible through community redevelopment funds, awarded by Senator Dave Wilson and Representative Jesse Vanderwende. Several elements will exist on this site, and we are just in the beginning. This project has been in planning and progress since 2021, and a concept plan is available on our new website page to help visualize the plan. We are combining the three entrances to Town Hall and the Police Station due to traffic and safety concerns, reworking the entrance and Town Hall parking lot, adding a designated space for our large holiday tree, creating a new space for a new LED sign/message board, and, of course, creating a small community park space. Last but certainly not least, this first phase of the project will also create the home of our memorial bricks project. The memorial bricks project first began in 2019 and was placed on hold during the COVID pandemic. From there, the bricks were re-incorporated into the new park plan, and we are now finally close to having them installed! Town staff is organizing prior brick reservations. We will be reaching out to all who contributed individually and announcing a small ceremony when we are closer to completion and can finalize a date. Once that is accomplished, we will be able to reopen the memorial bricks program for anyone else who wishes to contribute!

2025 Sussex County Comp Plan Annual Report – https://sussexcountyde.gov/sites/default/files/PDFs/Sussex_County_Comp_Plan_Annual_Report_2025.pdf
- Mountaire Farms has purchased 167 acres of land near the intersection of U.S. Route 113 and Route
404 in Bridgeville, Delaware, for $8.5 million. The site will be home to a state-of-the-art feed mill with
grain storage and packing facilities. The facility is planned to produce up to 30,000 tons of feed per
week and will include at least six large silos with a total storage capacity of approximately three million
bushels.
A key feature of the project is a rail spur running along the southern edge of the property, capable of
accommodating up to 100 rail cars to support efficient grain delivery. The project is expected to create
around 250 construction jobs and approximately 84 permanent positions once operational. While a
specific construction timeline has not been announced, Mountaire is actively advancing the project
through engineering, design, and regulatory approval phases. The investment supports the company’s
broader strategy to expand its feed production capabilities and optimize grain transportation. This is
an important economic driver in Sussex County and Sussex County Economic Development is doing
everything to keep this project moving.
