Welcome. It is our goal to provide you, the citizens of Bridgeville, with the information you need to make you more familiar with your city and the services provided by us. The Town is located in Sussex County in the southwestern part of Delaware. Bridgeville is located on U.S. 13, approximately 30 miles south of Dover, the capital of Delaware. Bridgeville is also 26 miles north of Salisbury, Maryland, the biggest shopping area south of Dover on the Delmarva Peninsula. The population of Bridgeville is approximately 2,568. The Town logo, posted at all entrances, is “If you lived here, you would be home now.” Bridgeville is one of the oldest surviving communities in western Sussex County. Long before Sussex County was subdivided into hundreds, a community in the 1680′s began to develop along the small waterway known as Bridge Branch. Our New Utility Billing Software is FINALLY here!

After several months of hard work and three years of water meter upgrades, our new software is FINALLY here!   With this upgrade, you will see a new look to your bills and have access to a customer portal that will enable you to view, print, and pay your bills online. Through the customer portal, you can sign up for E-billing and autopay, view your bills, and view your usage history. Once you have received your first new bill, you will be able to register your account or use the quick pay feature by visiting https://bridgeville.authoritypay.com. Your new bill will provide you with the necessary information to register, such as your new account number and CID number on the top right corner. THE 2025 ELECTION HAS BEEN CANCELED. 2025 Election Cancellation Notice     NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION   MARCH 1, 2025   CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE – JANUARY 31, 2025   VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE – FEBRUARY 19, 2025   The Bridgeville Municipal Election will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Bridgeville Public Library, 600 S. Cannon Street, between the hours of 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The Bridgeville Commissioners have established five Election Voting Districts for Municipal Elections. This year, Districts 1 and 4 residents will each vote for a candidate from their district to represent them on the Commission. All districts are for full two-year terms. Join us for our upcoming fundraisers to benefit our K-9 Unit!   On May 5th we will be at the Kiwanis Chicken BBQ selling platters for $12. There will also be bake sale items available.     To help celebrate Police Week, we will be hosting a Stepping Stone Paint Night Fundraiser on May 14th, at the Bridgeville Public Library, 6-9pm. Nature Conservancy – Controlled Burning Scheduled for March-April 2024

The Nature Conservancy is planning prescribed burns at the Middleford North Preserve (a few miles north of Seaford) and Pemberton Forest Preserve (east of Ellendale) this spring. The smoke from these burns may be visible from Bridgeville, and we want people to be aware that these are planned and controlled burns for habitat and grassland management. Our page has gone live for our Comprehensive Plan Update Surveys.  There are two surveys currently available – one for residents and one for non-residents or those who attend events in Bridgeville. However, you are welcome to complete either survey! Paper surveys were recently mailed out to all properties within the 19933 zip code – thanks to the grant and collaboration with Healthy Communities Delaware. Bridgeville PD 2023 Angel Tree

Would you like to help a family in your community this holiday season? This year, the Bridgeville Police Department will be hosting an Angel Tree! You might notice the officers wearing longer beards than normal; that’s because they are participating in “No Shave Winter!” They will be donating money towards our Angel Tree fund to be able to have longer facial hair while in uniform this winter. The funds will be used to buy gifts for this year’s adopted family.   How can you help? Starting November 20th, you can pick a tag from our Christmas Tree in the Police Department lobby for donation suggestions. New, unwrapped gifts can be returned to the PD by December 18th with the angel tag attached.
